The Challenge
An e-bike is a connected device that happens to have wheels. Riders across 14 European markets expected live GPS, telemetry, theft alerts, and firmware updates — which means APIs that treat a moving bicycle as a real-time data source, reliably, at fleet scale.
The Solution
Built the APIs and web interface for the companion platform: React and TypeScript on the front, Node.js services on AWS behind, streaming real-time GPS and telemetry, powering theft detection, and shipping over-the-air firmware updates to bikes in the field.
The Outcome
The platform operates across all 14 markets at cowboy.com. Riders track, secure, and update their bikes from the web — the hardware got smarter without ever visiting a workshop.
