These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website located at northstarcoding.com (the "Site"), including the AI terminal assistant, contact form, and any other tools we make available here. By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.

2. Description of Service

Northstar Coding is a software development agency. The Site exists to showcase our services and portfolio and to help prospective clients get in touch with us. It includes an interactive AI terminal assistant (ST3ADY) built to answer questions about our work and capabilities.

The AI assistant is a conversational tool, not a member of our team, and not a source of legal, financial, or professional advice. It can produce incomplete, outdated, or simply incorrect information. Nothing the assistant says constitutes a binding quote, proposal, or contractual commitment from Northstar Coding — any real project scope, timeline, or price is only finalized in a written proposal or signed agreement between you and us.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Site or its underlying systems. Without limiting what that means, you agree not to:

• Attempt to circumvent rate limits, origin checks, or other safeguards on the contact form, AI terminal, or any other endpoint;
• Submit content to the contact form or AI terminal that is unlawful, abusive, deceptive, or intended to attack, probe, or exploit the Site or its infrastructure;
• Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to interact with the Site or its APIs outside of normal, incidental use;
• Attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site, including the admin dashboard.

4. Intellectual Property

The Site's design, branding, copy, and underlying code are owned by Northstar Coding or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property law. You may not copy, reproduce, or repurpose them without our permission. This section covers the marketing site only — ownership of any intellectual property created during an actual client project is governed by the separate written agreement for that engagement, not by these Terms.

5. Third-Party Services

The Site relies on third-party providers to operate — for example, to deliver contact form emails, host our database, or generate AI terminal responses. Details on what data is involved and how it's handled are in our Privacy Policy.

6. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The Site, including the AI terminal assistant, is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any information on it (including AI-generated responses) is accurate or complete.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Northstar Coding will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site. Nothing in these Terms limits liability where it cannot be limited under applicable law.

7. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time as the Site evolves. When we do, we'll update the date below. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, unless applicable law in your jurisdiction requires otherwise.
